Casa de Chamizal vineyard estate at golden hour

Escape to a secluded vineyard retreat set above the vines with sweeping Sonoma views, quiet mornings, outdoor living spaces, a private pool, and gardens, all just minutes from the historic Sonoma Plaza.

A Sonoma original, quietly set above the valley.

Casa de Chamizal sits high on Moon Mountain, within a 187-acre estate of terraced vineyards, oak woodlands, gardens, orchards, and a spring fed pond. The land has been farmed for generations, and its wines have earned their share of acclaim.

Guests stay in the Stone House, the original residence at the heart of the estate. Private, generous, and unhurried, it is defined by stone walls, deep verandas, open air living spaces, and a pool that looks out across the vines. On a clear day, the silver line of San Francisco Bay shimmers on the horizon — the Transamerica Pyramid and Salesforce Tower rising faintly in the distance.

The estate remains a working vineyard in the Moon Mountain AVA, one of Sonoma’s most distinguished appellations. Here, you are surrounded by the rhythm of the land: walk the rows in the morning, swim in the afternoon, and open a bottle as the sun drops behind the hills.

Downtown Sonoma, with its restaurants, tasting rooms, and historic Sonoma Plaza, is just twenty minutes away. San Francisco is about an hour. But once you arrive at the top of the drive, the rest of the world feels comfortably far away.
